Improve Mood Naturally
In 2020, an estimated 21 million adults in the United States had at least one major depressive episode. And this isn’t just happening in adults – kids are struggling with anxiety and depression too.
While there are many contributing factors, my goal is to get to the root cause of the issue. In conventional medicine, anti-depressants are often quickly prescribed with little to no focus on the root cause. While prescription medications certainly have a time and place, they shouldn’t be the stopping point.
For example, if you have a rock in your shoe and it’s causing your foot to hurt, you could take ibuprofen to help reduce the pain. But ideally, we would remove the rock. When you remove the rock, your pain goes away AND you don’t have to take medication for the rest of your life. This is how functional medicine works.
To address the underlying causes of mood issues I like to put on my detective hat and rule out:
